Stainless Porous Sintered Air Sparger

Detailed Specifications
Material

Constructed from 316L stainless steel (food-grade, corrosion-resistant), ideal for harsh environments involving acids, alkalis, or high temperatures (up to 750°F in oxidizing environments and 1000°F in non-oxidizing environments).

Pore Size  Pore sizes typically range from 0.5 to 40 microns, enabling the generation of ultrafine bubbles (up to 1/100th the size of drilled-pipe spargers). Smaller bubbles increase gas-liquid contact area, enhancing dissolution efficiency and reducing gas consumption
Porosity  High porosity (up to 55%) ensures optimal gas flow while maintaining structural integrit
Shape and sizes  Determined by the tank/ vessel geometry and the required gas flow rate. Tubular and ring spargers are common for larger tanks.
End Connections Ensure the inlet connection (e.g., NPT, Tri-Clamp, ISO) matches your existing piping.

Features

Stainless steel porous sintered air diffusers, with their unique material properties and structural design, exhibit multiple advantages in industrial applications:
(1) Efficient gas diffusion and low energy consumption: The use of micron-scale porous structure enables uniform dispersion of gas, enhancing gas-liquid contact efficiency; it also features low pressure drop, which helps reduce operational energy consumption.
(2) Excellent corrosion resistance and stability: The main material is mostly 316L stainless steel, which can withstand acid and alkaline environments as well as high-temperature conditions. It has a stable structure and does not release metal ions, thus avoiding contamination of the medium.
(3) Long lifespan and low maintenance cost: The metal sintering process endows it with robust and durable characteristics, allowing it to withstand vibration and wear over the long term, thereby reducing the frequency of replacement. Compared to traditional graphite or lead diffusers, its service life is significantly extended

Applications
  • Wastewater Treatment: Aeration tanks for biological treatment processes, where oxygen is needed for microbial digestion of organic matter.

  • Biotechnology & Fermentation: Aerating bioreactors and fermenters to supply oxygen to cell cultures (bacteria, yeast, mammalian cells) without causing shear damage.

  • Chemical & Pharmaceutical Processing: Gas-liquid reactions, hydrogenation, oxidation, stripping volatile compounds, and pH control (e.g., with CO₂).

  • Food & Beverage: Carbonation of soft drinks and beer, oxygenating wort in breweries, and nitrogenation for creamy textures.

  • Aquaculture: Oxygenation of water in fish farms and hatchery tanks.

  • Mining & Metals: Oxygen sparging in hydrometallurgical processes and leaching.
